Teen Makers STEM Celebration In-Person

Celebrate NJ STEM Month with the first annual Teen Makers STEM Celebration at the Newark Public Library's Main Branch! The Teen Makers STEM Celebration will feature four STEM-focused hands-on workshops in the new Makerspace, Made@NPL:

Wednesday, 3/8, 4-6pm: 3D-Printed Balancing Bird Workshop

3D-print a balancing bird and learn about how the center of mass allows the object to be balanced on a point!

Wednesday, 3/15, 4-6pm: Collaborative Beat-Making Workshop

Use everyday objects to make a collaborative "beat" in NPL's new Audio Production Booth! Learn to use state-of-the-art audio production equipment and software while experimenting with sounds and rhythms.

Wednesday, 3/22, 4-6pm: Light-Reflective Vinyl Graphic Hoodie Workshop

Learn about cutting machines and the science behind how light-reflective materials work. Please provide your hoodie size, and whether it's a men's or women's size, on the registration page for this event, or by emailing made@npl.org.

Wednesday, 3/28, 4-6pm: Laser-Engraved Cutting Board Workshop

Use the Glowforge Laser Cutter to create a personalized cutting board. learn about the science of CO2 Laser Cutters.
