Social Emotional Learning (SEL) & Self-Care

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) & Self-Care In-Person

Schools are expending a lot of effort to ensure that students are fluent in Social Emotional Learning--now it is time for adults--caregivers, stakeholders and community members--to learn these very important tenets, also.

This workshop will explore the five core competencies of Social Emotional Learning and focus on Self Awareness and Self Care. This will be an interactive workshop in which participants will gain new perspectives on self; the environments around them; and new coping skills for life's personal and professional challenges.

The workshop is led by Love Marilyn Gaillard, MSW, a school social worker raised in Newark. She currently serves as a Child Study Team social worker for the Newark Board of Education.

The event will be held in the auditorium on the fourth floor of Main Library, 5 Washington Street.
